Open Heaven Bible Church (OHBC) – Heart of Worship Ministry

OHBC Heart of Worship serves as the foundation for leading the congregation into a deeper, more intimate relationship with God through worship. This essential component connects to our various ministries, including children's ministry, men's ministry, women's ministry, youth ministry, and of course, our worship ministry, creating a holistic approach to spiritual growth through worship.

The Heart of Worship ministry at OHBC is dedicated to fostering an atmosphere where God’s presence is palpable, and lives are transformed through worship. Worship goes beyond singing songs; it involves surrendering our hearts, exalting the name of Jesus, and responding to His love with sincere devotion.

Our Mission

To glorify God through Spirit-led, passionate, and biblically grounded worship.

To lead the church into deeper intimacy with God through praise and worship.

To train and equip worshippers, including those in our children's ministry and youth ministry, to utilize their gifts for God’s glory.

To cultivate an environment of unity, excellence, and anointing in all aspects of worship, encompassing our men's ministry and women's ministry as well.

What We Do

Sunday Worship Services – Leading the congregation in powerful and Spirit-filled worship experiences that engage all ministries.

Worship Nights & Revival Gatherings – Special times of extended worship, prayer, and a transformative encounter with God.

Choir & Worship Team Rehearsals – More than mere preparation, our rehearsals become moments of refreshing, soaking, and deeper fellowship with the Father, where we take time to be in His presence before leading others in worship.

Music & Worship Training – Equipping and mentoring worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists, including participants from our youth ministry.

Media & Production Ministry – Supporting worship through sound, visuals, and creative arts, enhancing the experience for all ministries.

OHBC Unvanquished Woman

Unbeaten. Undefeated. Unconquered. A Woman After God's Own Heart

The OHBC Unvanquished Woman Ministry is a calling, a movement, and a testament to the strength, faith, and perseverance of women who walk in the power of God. Rooted in Proverbs 31:17, "She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms," this women's ministry uplifts and empowers women to stand firm in their faith, conquer life’s challenges, and walk boldly in their God-given purpose.

An unvanquished woman is one who refuses to be defeated by trials, setbacks, or adversity. She is a warrior in spirit, clothed in the armor of God, strengthened by His word, and led by His presence. Through prayer, discipleship, and fellowship, OHBC Unvanquished Woman Ministry equips women to embrace their divine calling, develop spiritual resilience, and live victoriously alongside our children's ministry and youth ministry programs.

The Power of Sisterhood:

In this journey, no woman walks alone. When one is weak, the stronger one will stretch forth her hand, lifting her sister back to strength. When her crown is skewed, another will gently adjust it, ensuring she stands tall in her God-given authority. This ministry is built on unity, love, and the unwavering support of sisterhood, where women hold each other up, encourage one another, and walk forward in victory together, side by side with the other ministries of our church.

OHBC MEN

The OHBC Men's Ministry is a faith-driven community dedicated to empowering men to grow spiritually, lead faithfully, and serve effectively in their homes, church, and communities. Rooted in biblical principles, this ministry provides opportunities for men to strengthen their relationship with God and each other through fellowship, discipleship, and service, much like our children's ministry and women's ministry do for their respective groups.

Key Aspects of OHBC Men's Ministry:

Spiritual Growth – Through Bible studies, prayer groups, and discipleship programs, men are encouraged to deepen their faith and apply biblical teachings to their daily lives, paralleling our worship ministry's focus on spiritual enrichment.

Fellowship & Brotherhood – The men's ministry fosters strong bonds among men through gatherings, retreats, and special events, creating a supportive environment akin to our youth ministry, promoting personal and spiritual growth.

Leadership & Mentorship – By developing strong Christian leaders, this ministry equips men to be role models in their families, workplaces, and communities, much as we strive to nurture future leaders in our children's ministry.

Community Outreach – Serving others is a core value, and the men's ministry engages in outreach initiatives, volunteering, and mission work to impact the lives of those in need, similar to the efforts seen in our women's ministry.

Accountability & Encouragement – Men are encouraged to hold each other accountable, providing support and guidance through life's challenges, reinforcing the collaborative spirit we see across all ministries.

The OHBC Men's Ministry is a place where men can grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and make a lasting impact in their community while striving to be the men God has called them to be, working alongside our youth ministry, worship ministry, and other groups to fulfill this mission.

ABOUT MR DEON AND MRS CELESTE HUGHES

We married in 2003 and are blessed with two children. We have embraced the responsibility to guide them and raise them in a God-centered home, focusing on His (God's) Principles for our family relationships. As part of our commitment to our faith, we actively participate in children's ministry, ensuring that our kids grow in their spiritual journey. Since 2014, we have served in home cell groups and facilitated biblical marriage sessions (Partners for Life) at Rhema North Ministries, extending our reach to women's ministry and men's ministry efforts as well. We believe in serving by standing firmly on His (God's) Word.

Mark 12:29-31 reminds us of our mission: The most important [commandment] is this: "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." The second is this: "Love your neighbor as yourself." There is no commandment greater than these. Our commitment also extends to youth ministry and worship ministry, fostering a community built on love and faith.

OHBC Empowered Youth Ministry: Living Out 1 Timothy 4:12

At OHBC Youth Ministry, we are driven by the truth in 1 Timothy 4:12. We believe that young people are not just the future of the Church but an essential part of God’s work right now. Our mission is to equip and inspire the next generation to live boldly for Christ, leading by example in every aspect of life, much like our efforts in our children's ministry and initiatives in our worship ministry.

Our Core Commitments

Speech – We encourage uplifting and life-giving conversations, using our words to glorify God and encourage others, just as we emphasize communication in both men's ministry and women's ministry programs.

Conduct – Our actions reflect Christ. We strive to live with integrity, kindness, and a servant’s heart, impacting our schools, homes, and communities, similar to our outreach in the youth ministry.

Love – We show God’s love by accepting, forgiving, and serving one another. Our ministry is a family where everyone belongs and experiences the love of Jesus, fostering a spirit found in all our ministries.

Faith – We are growing in our relationship with God, diving into His Word, and trusting Him in all circumstances. We believe that youth can have a strong and unshakable faith, a principle we hold across our activities in children's ministry and women’s ministry.

At OHBC KIDS, we believe that every child is a gift from God. Our goal is to:

Teach Biblical Truths – Helping children understand the Word of God in a way they can relate to.
